Prenova Patent Makes Buildings More Energy Efficient
Prenova, Inc., a privately held energy services provider, today announced it has been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for Asset Performance Optimization.
ATLANTA, GA - Prenova, Inc., a privately held energy services provider
managing over $2 billion in energy spend for dozens of leading companies, today announced it has been awarded a patent by the United States Patent and Trademark Office for Asset Performance Optimization, a comprehensive set of processes and technologies designed to improve the energy efficiency of commercial and industrial facilities.

"Prenova has long been an innovator in the area of energy management," said Michael J. Nark, Prenova's President and Chief Executive Officer, "and this patent represents years of research combined with practical application of our optimization methodology across thousands of customer assets. We've consistently demonstrated our ability to reduce energy consumption in commercial and industrial facilities and are justifiably proud to have these efforts recognized in
this way by the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office."

Asset Performance Optimization is an innovative approach for controlling energy consumption and reducing costs associated with the operation and maintenance of core building systems (e.g. heating, ventilation, & air conditioning [HVAC], lighting, refrigeration, etc.). Prenova's sophisticated diagnostics analyze the performance of these systems, looking for performance anomalies that affect energy use and impact the productivity and comfort of building occupants.
The company's technicians then use the findings to identify, assess, and resolve equipmentrelated issues remotely, without disturbing workers on site. Using this patented methodology, Prenova can correct potentially expensive problems before they result in a significant increase in energy consumption.
